Award-Winning Artist Warren Keating’s View From Above

October 6, 2009

Artist Warren Keating’s award-winning paintings reflect over 25 years of creating both the figure and the landscape.

His ingenious “Overview” series depicts an overhead view of people walking at various locations around the world. These “above-view”, figurative paintings were featured on CNN several months ago. “The style of these paintings reflects a type of mark making that I have invented a kind of “pixelated impressionism” where the expressive swashes of paint depict the pixels from the original digital video reference image”, explains Keating.

Warren Keating’s internationally-collected work has been commissioned by celebrities, sponsored by the Governor of Oaxaca, Mexico, and has won numerous awards; most recently receiving his Second Award in the Human Figure Exhibit juried show at Long Beach Arts.

Beyond Keating’s “Overview” series, you will find beautifully executed Landscapes and gorgeous figurative paintings throughout his work.
